Salah Abdel-Shafi

Salah Abdel- Shafi ( b. 1962 in Gaza ) is a Palestinian economist and diplomat.

Abdel- Shafi studied economics at the University of Economics in Berlin and finished his academic education in 2001 at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University from. Abdel- Shafi is since September 2013 Palestinian Ambassador to Austria and permanent representative to the Vienna-based international organizations. From 2006 to 2010 he was General Delegate of Palestine in Stockholm, Sweden. He was involved in the preparation of the Geneva Initiative. From August 2010 to August 2013, he was Ambassador of Palestine and Head of Diplomatic Mission of Palestine in Germany. He is the son of the Palestinian politician Haidar Abdel Shafi
