Salaheddine Bassir

Salaheddine Bassir ( born September 5, 1972 in Casablanca, Morocco ) is a former Moroccan football player.

Career

During his club career he played for Raja Casablanca where he started, Al -Hilal Riyadh, Deportivo La Coruna and OSC Lille. With Al -Hilal Riyadh in 1996 he became Saudi masters, with Deportivo La Coruña in 2000 he succeeded in winning the Spanish Championship.

One of the greatest successes as Moroccan nation player counts the successful qualification for the 1998 World Cup, where he was the most successful Moroccans with four goals and had thus contributed significantly to the achievement of the World Cup. Also at the World Cup itself, he scored two goals.

Due to numerous injuries he had to end his active career in 2003. With 25 goals in 50 internationals, he is the record scorer of the Moroccan national team.
