The Salalah Airport ( IATA: SLL, ICAO: OOSA ) is the second largest airport in Oman after Muscat Airport. It lies about 5.5 km north-east of the center of Salalah in the south of the country. He is all year served mainly by domestic destinations. During Charif however numerous charter planes land from the neighboring Gulf States and the other countries. The current construction work for the expansion of the airport should be completed in November 2011. With the completion of the new terminal, the future capacity will then be 2 million passengers per year. However, ultimate goal is to be an annual capacity of 10 million passengers.

Statistical figures for the Salalah airport:

Development in the first three months of 2010: increased has the total number of passengers during the first three months of 2010 from 97 043 passengers in the same period by 8% to 104,997 passengers. The number of aircraft movements of civil aviation has increased over the same period of 882 movements by 13% to 998 aircraft movements. On the development of air cargo volumes were not disclosed.
