Salem Township is one of twelve townships of Champaign County in the U.S. state of Ohio. According to the census in 2000 2307 inhabitants were registered here.

Geography

Salem Township is centrally located in the north of Champaign County in west-central Ohio and borders clockwise to the townships: Liberty Township, Logan County, Monroe Township ( Logan County), Wayne Township, Union Township, Urbana Township, Mad River Township, Concord Township and Harrison Township.

Management

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two persons are elected in the year after the presidential election and one each in the previous year. The term of office lasts four years, beginning on 1 January. There is also a Township Clerk ( responsible for finance and budget), which is also elected in the year before the presidential election to a four -year term. Whose term of office begins on April 1.
