Saleux

Saleux is a northern French village with 2416 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté d' agglomà Amiens Métropole, in the canton Boves.

Geography

The community in Amiénois in the southwest of Amiens is predominantly on the left (western) bank of the Selle; the municipal area extends beyond the Westast the Autoroute A29 Autoroute A16 ( with a connection point ) to the Autoroute A29 Ostast; the tollbooth péage de Dury is in the field of Saleux. The municipality is crossed by the roads department D1029 ( former Route nationale 29), D138, D8 and touches the east by the department of road D210. Between Amiens and Saleux the community Salouël pushes. The railway line Amiens - Rouen runs through the community; she has there a train station.

Toponymy and history

The name of the municipality is on the waters flowing through it, the returned Selle.

In Saleux was a Gallo- Roman cemetery. The rural community turned against 1830 in an industrial suburb of Amiens.
