Geography

Salgen is located about 35 km northeast of Memmingen in the Danube -Iller region in central Bavaria.

Expansion of the municipal area

The municipality consists of the districts Salgen, Bronnen and Stockhausen.

History

Max Miller (CDU Salgen, Hausen, Bronnen ) was for 45 years, from 1945 to 1948 and 1966-2008 mayor. At the time of leaving he was 86 years old and the longest-serving mayor in Bavaria.. His successor is since May 1, 2008 Johann Egger ( Fr.Wählerver. / Bürgerl.Block ).

Coat of arms

Economy, agriculture and forestry
