Salice Salentino

Salice Salentino is an Italian town in the province of Lecce, Apulia. Covering an area of 58 km ² live 8550 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). The place gives the wine its name to the same name.

Wine

Salice Salentino is an Italian rosé or red wine from the provinces of Lecce and Brindisi, Puglia. Both types of wine have the status of a DOC and both produced at least 80 percent from the grape Negroamaro. Allows an addition of Malvasia Nera di Brindisi and / or Malvasia Nera di Lecce by up to 20 percent.

96 winegrowers work on the 792 hectares of vineyards approved and produce on average 7390 hl of wine. Of this amount, about 70 percent and 30 percent red wine rosé wine.

Red wine ( Salice Salentino Rosso )

The wine is aged for at least eight months in tanks. However, a quality provider let the wine mature three to four years in different containers.
