Salim Joubran

Salim Joubran (* 1947) is since 2003 a judge of the Supreme Court of Israel. He is the first Arab- judge who was appointed on a permanent basis to the Court, was previously only Abd-er -Rahman Zoabi as Arab- judge there temporarily operate.

The Christian Joubran studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he completed his studies in 1968. At first he practiced from 1970 to 1982 as a lawyer, but was a judge at the Magistrate's Court of Haifa. Eleven years later, he was appointed judge of the District Court of Haifa, where he was to be another ten years worked until he was first only as a temporary member appointed Supreme Court judge in 2003. In May 2004 he was appointed on a permanent basis.
