Saline County (Nebraska)

Saline County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat), Wilber, named after its founder Charles Dana Wilber.

Geography

The County is located in southeastern Nebraska, is located in the south about 40 miles from Kansas and has an area of 1492 square kilometers, of which 2 square kilometers is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Lancaster County, Gage County, Jefferson County, Fillmore County and Seward County.

History

Saline County was formed in 1867. It was named after the salt deposits here.
