The spit - willow ( Salix hastata ) is a plant of the genus willow ( Salix).
Description
The spit - willow is a densely branched small shrub with upright branches and reaches heights of growth of 0.8 to 1.2 meters and width of 1.5 to 2 meters. The change-constant leaves are egg-shaped and bluish- green and 2 to 4 cm long.
The spit - willow blooming in April / May, before the leaves. The 3-5 cm long, many kitten sitting long stems to 5 mm and are silvery, later yellow.
Distribution & Location
Salix hastata grows in the arctic and subarctic Europe, North America and in the mountains of central and southern Europe. In the southern Harz occurrence are off.
The spit - willow prefers well-drained to stony soils in a sunny location.
