Sally Barker

Sally Barker ( born September 19, 1959 in Barrow upon Soar, Leicestershire ) is an English singer-songwriter in the area of ​​folk rock, known for her work as a solo artist and founding member of The Poozies.

Musical Career

At the age of 10 years, Sally Barker began writing songs and making music (guitar), inspired by TV appearances of the English folk-pop singer Mary Hopkin and influenced by Bessie Smith, Bonnie Raitt, John Martyn and Aretha Franklin.

The Poozies (1990-1996)

The Poozies played a mix of Cajun, folk, blues, country and rock, and published with Sally Barker two albums, Chantoozies (1993) and Dansoozies (1995).

The Poozies were referred to as the "UK 's finest all-female outfit " and " Britain's premiere celtic roots all -woman supergroup ".

1996 to the present

As of 1996, Sally Barker devoted strengthened her family ( she has two sons ), and Kate Rusby replaced it with The Poozies.
