Salt Iceland is an island of the British Virgin Islands, which is located about eight kilometers southwest of the main island of Tortola with the capital Road Town. The island was named after the salt pool available there.

On October 29, 1867 British passenger liner RMS Rhone sank off the island during a hurricane. The wreck of this ship served as a backdrop for some scenes of the film The Deep (1977) and is a popular place for diving and snorkeling.

From 1993, Norwell Durant was the only inhabitants of the island. Durant moved for health reasons in 2004 to Tortola, where he died in November of the same year. He is buried in Salt Iceland.
