As a result of this cooperation contributed numerous players the Flames, such as the Canadian-born Patrick Lebeau, the shirt of the Eagles. Three years after their accession in the IHL, the Eagles were able to win the 1987 play-off final with 4-2 victories against the Muskegon Lumberjacks.
