Salt potatoes

Boiled potatoes are boiled in salt water potatoes that are peeled as opposed to potatoes before. They belong to the traditional side dishes, especially the German cuisine. For this very simple way of preparation, the potatoes are peeled with a potato peeler or knife, cut into pieces depending on size, added to cold salt water, boiled and cooked for about 20 minutes in lightly boiling water. Before serving, the liquid is poured off and allowed the potatoes are still hot pot evaporate.

If the potatoes then tossed in butter, they are called pivot or butter potatoes. In restaurants they are often flavored with herbs, served as parsley or dill potatoes.
