Saluc

Saluc from Callenelle in the Belgian municipality Péruwelz ( Hainaut) is a world leader in the manufacture of billiard balls, they represent 80 percent of world production here.

History

Founded in 1923 as a manufacturing company for Saluc synthetic tanning agents for tanneries, of which the company supplied about 40 farms in the area. As this industry in the 1950s slowly die out and the tanneries was supplied by chemistry major producers, the company specializing in the manufacture of billiard balls under the brand names " Aramith " ®. Behind the protected term refers to pure polyester free phenol resin.

In May 2012, the Belgian billiard cloth manufacturers Iwan Simonis took over the company.
