Salvage tug

Salvage tug ( English: Salvage tugs ) are oceangoing tug with strong machinery, large radius and good maneuverability, which are specially constructed and equipped for the recovery of the damaged vessel.

Use

Salvage tugs are stationed worldwide, especially in sea areas with heavy traffic or hazardous weather conditions. Due to a continued decline in shipwrecks civilian salvage tug, however, are hardly economical to operate today and they are therefore mainly used in multi-purpose function as salvage, deep sea and anchor handling tug.

The equipment consists of extensive towing, fire monitors for fire control, foreign Lenz Equipment for detection fight, workshops, ship cranes and lifeboats.
