Salvatore Adamo

Salvatore Adamo ( born 1 November 1943 in Comiso, Sicily ) is a Belgian musician, songwriter and pop singer of Italian origin. Adamo sings in nine languages.

Life

When Salvatore was four years old, his family moved to the Belgian coalfield to Mons, the father found work there. Since a dual citizenship was not possible in Belgium, he retained, by his own admission, out of respect and in memory of his father, the Italian. In addition to his academic career, he sang in the church choir and learned to play the guitar.

Career

Adamo had to cancel his planned tour and seeking treatment because of health problems on 28 May 2004. After nearly a year respite Adamo was then concerts in Belgium and France.
