Salwa Bakr

Salwa Bakr (Arabic سلوى بكر ) (* 1949 in Cairo ) is an Egyptian writer.

Life

She studied business and theater criticism and worked in the theater and film industry as a critic in Cyprus and Lebanon.

Today she lives in Cairo. It is one of the leading writers of their country and promoted intercultural dialogue between the Arab and Western world.

Focus of her narrative work, which includes novels and short stories, is the situation of women in Egypt.
