Salzhaff

This is a salt lagoon by the Spit of Wustrow peninsula and the Boiensdorfer Werder peninsula from the Baltic almost separate part of the Wismar Bay. It is located south of the city Rerik in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern and southwest of the resort cooling Born in the mid- Mecklenburg.

The Wustrow peninsula was used in the early 1990s by the military until the withdrawal of the Soviet army; the lying in the western part of the bay side Salzhaff Kroy and the offshore sand island Kiel site are under protection. The salt lagoon is a popular holiday and recreation area. The shallow water is ideal as an entry area for sailors and surfers.
