Sam Claflin

Samuel "Sam" George Claflin (* June 27, 1986 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England ) is a British actor.

Life

Claflin is the son of a financial adviser and an assistant professor. He made his acting debut in the television miniseries The Pillars of the Earth as Richard Shiring. In the fourth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides, he plays a supporting role in the missionary Philip. In football drama United, which deals with the rebuilding of the team after the plane crash of the Manchester United team in 1958, he plays the role of Duncan Edwards. In 2012 he played the role of a prince in an American remake of the fairy tale Snow White, Snow White and the Huntsman, which was released in Germany on 31 May 2012. In May 2012, he landed the lead role of Bryan McNeil in Hammer Films horror thriller The Quiet Ones. In the 2013 released sci-fi film The Hunger Games - Catching Fire Claflin took over the role of Finnick Odair.

Since July 2013 Claflin is married to the British actress Laura Haddock.
