Sam Houston State University

(Also known as SHSU or Sam ) The Sam Houston State University is a state university in Huntsville, Texas. With 15,903 students, it is the second largest site of the Texas State University System.

History

The university was founded in 1879 with 110 students as Sam Houston Normal Institute. After several name changes, it received its present name in 1969.
