Sam J. Jones

Sam J. Jones ( born August 12, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois ) is an American actor.

Life

His first role in a feature film had Jones along with Bo Derek in the movie Ten - The dream woman from the year 1979.

Today, Jones is known primarily for his starring role in Flash Gordon as the eponymous hero movie of 1980. After this film turned out to be a flop, Jones had no major feature film roles, but appeared very regularly in American TV productions.

Jones played the lead role in the 1987 U.S. adaptation of Will Eisner's comic book character "The Spirit". In the same year he was shooting for the NBC movie Highwayman, which led to a short-lived series.

In 2001, he starred in the series Hollywood Safari and entered into Stargate SG -1 in the episode " Bounty Hunter" ( Deadman switch) in the third season on.

In the June issue of 1975, Jones moved completely out of the American Playgirl magazine. He used the name Andrew Cooper III. , Which he had given to suggest wealth. He is one of the few Playgirl models, which has brought it later to a career in Hollywood.

Sam Jones is married for the second time and has five children. The name Sam J. Jones he used to avoid confusion with the actor Sam Jones. However, the J. is a fraud because his full name Samuel Gerald Jones is.

Jones was formerly the United States Marine Corps and received many awards, including:

  • Citizen of the Year (Citizen of The Year ) of the State of California
  • The award for outstanding achievements in the entertainment industry, awarded by the Southern California Motion Picture Council
  • 1981 " Best New Star Award" from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films
  • In 1981 he was nominated for the " Golden Raspberry " as the worst actor in Flash Gordon
