Sam Melville (actor)

Samuel "Sam" Gardner Melville ( born August 20, 1936 in Fillmore, Utah; † March 9, 1989 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor.

Life

Melville began his career in the mid -1960s, with guest appearances in television series such as Hogan's Heroes, The Fugitive and Gunsmoke. He made his feature film debut in 1967 as Morgan Earp in John Sturges ' western The five outlaws on the side of James Garner and Jason Robards. The following year, he had a small supporting role in The Thomas Crown Affair with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway in the lead roles. Familiarity with the U.S. television audience he gained through his portrayal of Officer Mike Danko in the Aaron Spelling -produced crime drama The Rookies, originated from the 1972-1976 93 episodes. 1978 Melville was seen in a supporting role in the film Surf date of the decision by John Milius. In the following years, he has guest starred in several series formats such as TJ Hooker, Airwolf and The A-Team. Between 1985 and 1987 he exhibited in the television series Scarecrow and Mrs. King the ex-husband of Kate Jackson dar. Jackson had played his wife earlier in The Rookies. After that, he was still seen in some B-movies.

Melville died at the age of 52 of heart failure. He was married and had no children.
