Sam Snead

Samuel Jackson "Sam" Snead ( born May 27, 1912 in Ashwood, Virginia; † 23 May 2002 in Hot Springs ) was one of the all-time sizes of the U.S. golf and seven-time major winner. During his career he won a record number of 82 tournaments on the PGA TOUR North American, and about 70 other world.

Origin and early days as per

Sam Snead was born on 27 May 1912 as the youngest of six children. He grew up in modest circumstances. His father worked as " Porter, electricians and who knows what else in a hotel in our city ." For golf he came before and after him in the same way as many world-class players. At the age of seven he began to work as a caddy on the golf course at the resort " The Homestead ". His own game began with his twelve years older brother Homer in garden of parents. With tomato cans as holes and sticks as clubs they played their own four- hole course.

Career as a professional
