Sam Yahel

Sam Yahel (born 1970 in Shreveport, Louisiana) is an American jazz organist.

Yahel came in 1990 to New York City, where he has since, inter alia, with Joshua Redman, Eric Alexander, Maceo Parker, Bill Frisell, Ryan Kisor, Jim Rotondi, Matt Penman, Nicholas Payton, Norah Jones ( Come Away With Me 2002) Lizz Wright and Madeleine Peyroux worked. In the late 1990s he founded an organ trio with drummer Brian Blade and the guitarist Peter Bernstein, with whom he also appeared at the Village Vanguard. In 2006 he was nominated for the JJA Jazz Awards from the Jazz Journalists Association for keyboardist of the year.
