Samad Behrangi

Səməd Behrəngi (* 1939, † 1968) ( Azerbaijani: صمد بهرنگی [ sæmæt behræŋg ʲ ɪ ], Persian: صمد بهرنگی [ sæmæd beɦræŋg ʲ i ː ] ), Iranian writer, teacher, journalist and civil rights activist, was born in the district Tscherendab, Tabriz in poverty. After graduation, he worked as a teacher in various, mostly remote villages in Azerbaijan. In his role as a writer, he criticized the then policy in Iran.

Behrəngi wrote numerous children's books, the themed poverty and the harsh lives of children. His main work The little black fish he published in 1968. In this he describes the perspective on life from the perspective of a fish. Behrangi wrote many treatises on the language and history of Azerbaijan except for children's books.

In 1968, he died due to a swimming accident.
