Samantha Mathis

Samantha Mathis ( born May 12, 1970 in New York City ) is an American actress.

Life and career

Mathis was born in Brooklyn. Her mother, Bibi Besch, was an Austrian actress who emigrated to the U.S. at the beginning of the 1960s. Therefore, it is also the granddaughter of Gusti Huber. At the age of three years, Mathis experienced the divorce of their parents and remained with the mother. When she was five, Mathis was residing with her mother in Los Angeles County, California. Inspired by her mother, Mathis later also become an actress decided at the age of twelve.

This she could reach the age of sixteen years and get first minor roles in television series. She played her first major role in the film Pump Up the Volume (1990 ), in which she starred opposite Christian Slater.
