Samboan, Cebu

Samboan is a metropolitan area municipality in the province of Cebu on the island of Cebu in the Philippines. It has 18,613 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 15 barangays. It belongs to the fifth income class municipalities in the Philippines and is described as a partially urbanized. the name of the village derives from the word Sinamboang simply means fish in Cebuano.

Geography

It lies opposite on the west coast of the island of Cebu in the Tanon Strait, the island of Negros. Cebu City is located approximately 140 km northeast of the community and is accessible via the coastal road via Toledo City from. The neighboring municipalities are Ginatilan in the north, Oslob in the east and Santander in the south. The topography of the city is described except for a small stretch of coastline as mountainous and steep.
