Sames II Theosebes Dikaios

Samos II Theosebes Dikaios or short Sames was of Armenian descent and lived in the 2nd century BC. He was the son and successor of Ptolemy of Commagene.

Samos reigned as King of Commagene 130-109 BC. During his reign, he made a fortress in Samosata building that is now flooded by the Ataturk Dam. Samos died 109 BC. The name of his wife is unknown. His son and successor was Mithridates I Kallinikos.
