Samrong District
Amphoe Samrong ( Thai: สำโรง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the west of the province of Ubon Ratchathani. The Ubon Ratchathani Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.
Geography
Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Warin Chamrap and the Det Udom Ubon Ratchathani province, and Amphoe Non Khun and Kanthararom the province of Sisaket.
History
The county Samrong was on 15 April 1985, initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the six Tambon Samrong Khok Kong, Nong Hai, Kho Noi Non Ka Len and Khok Sawang were separated from Amphoe Warin Chamrap. On 9 May 1992 Samrong got the full Amphoe status.
Administrative units
Amphoe Samrong is ( tambon) divided into nine municipalities, which in turn in 111 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.
There are also nine administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
