Samrong Thap District

Amphoe Samrong Thap ( Thai: อำเภอ สำโรงทาบ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the east of the province of Surin. The Surin province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Amphoe Samrong Thap borders the following districts ( from the southwest clockwise): Amphoe to the Sikhoraphum, Sanom and Non Narai in the Province Surin, Amphoe Mueang, and the Chan, Huai Thap Than Prang Ku and the province of Sisaket.

History

The small district ( King Amphoe ) Samrong Thap was established on September 1, 1958 December 11, 1959, he was promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Samrong Thap is divided into ten subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 100 villages ( Muban ).

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Samrong Thap ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สำโรงทาบ ), consisting of parts of the tambon Samrong Thap and Tambon Nong Phai from parts of Lom,
  • Muen Si ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หมื่น ศรี ), consisting of the whole tambon Muen Si.

In addition, there are nine " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
