Samuel Adams

Samuel Adams (born 16 Septemberjul / September 27 1722greg in Boston, Massachusetts, .. † October 2, 1803 ) was an American statesman and revolutionary. He was an opponent of British colonial policy during the American Revolution and one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. From 1794 to 1797 he also served as governor of Massachusetts.

Life

Adams attended Harvard College and began in 1740 after graduating from law school. He then worked as a clerk and later became a merchant.
