Samuel C. Bradford

Samuel Clement Bradford ( born January 10, 1878 in London, † November 13, 1948 ) was an English librarian.

Bradford graduated from the University of London Chemistry and received his doctoral degree. From 1899 he worked at the Science Museum in South Kensington, the library of which he headed from 1925 until his retirement in 1937. For his successful efforts to build one of the most important collections of scientific literature in Europe, he campaigned for the introduction of a decimal and worked in various documentation scientific bodies.

In the Library Science Bradford is known for the eponymous Bradfordsche Act, which in 1934 he described the distribution of articles on a theme about various journals.
