Samuel Carey Bradshaw

Samuel Carey Bradshaw ( born June 10, 1809 in Plumstead, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, † June 9, 1872 in Quakertown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania ) was an American politician. Between 1855 and 1857 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Samuel Bradshaw attended the public schools of his home. After a subsequent study medicine at the Pennsylvania Medical College in 1833 and was admitted to his doctor, he started in Quakertown to work in this profession. In the 1850s he joined the opposition party. In the congressional elections of 1854 he was in the seventh election district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Samuel Augustus Bridges on March 4, 1855.

As Bradshaw has not been confirmed in 1856, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until January 3, 1857. This was marked by the events leading up to the Civil War. After his time in the U.S. House of Representatives, he is no longer politically have appeared. He died on 9 June 1872 in Quakertown.
