Samuel H. Woodson (Kentucky)

Samuel Hughes Woodson (* September 15, 1777 in Charlottesville, Virginia; † July 28, 1827 in Jessamine County, Kentucky ) was an American politician. Between 1821 and 1823 he represented the state of Kentucky in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Samuel Woodson attended the public schools of his home. After a subsequent study of law and its made ​​in 1802 admitted to the bar, he began practicing in Nicholasville in this profession. Between 1803 and 1819 he was Bailiff ( Clerk ) at the District Court of Jessamine County.

In the congressional elections of 1820 Woodson was as an independent candidate in the second electoral district of Kentucky in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on March 4, 1821. Since he has not been confirmed in 1822, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1823. After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Woodson practiced as a lawyer again. In the years 1825 and 1826, he was a member of the House of Representatives from Kentucky.
