Samuel Jesi

Samuele Jesi (* September 4, 1786 or 1788 in Correggio (Emilia -Romagna), † January 17, 1853 in Florence ) was an Italian artist, engraver and lithographer.

Life

Jesi studied at the Art Academy in Milan under Giuseppe Longhi. His first major work was The Repudiation of Hagar (1821 ), by Guercino's picture in the Brera at Milan, and the Madonna with St. John and St.. Stephan (1834 ), after Fra Bartolommeo in the cathedral of Lucca.

In 1840 he stabbed after Raphael 's portrait of Pope Leo X with Cardinals Giulio Rossi and de ' Medici in the Palazzo Pitti.

In 1846 he took over the casting of the then newly discovered in S. Onofrio at Florence, fresco, which is a sacrament, and some of the Raphael was attributed.

He completed 1849 's masterful drawing of it, but died on January 17, 1853 in Florence before the end of the stitch.

In the meantime, he completed nor the hem according to the Vierge à la vigne.
