Samuel Kobia
Samuel Kobia ( born March 20, 1947 in Miathene, Meru Central District ) is a Kenyan pastor of the Methodist Church in Kenya.
Kobia studied theology at St. Paul 's College in Kenya, has a diploma for Church services in urban areas (Urban Ministry ) from McCormick Theological Seminary, USA (1972 ) and an MA in city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA (1978). In 1993, he earned at Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis, USA, a doctorate in theology.
Kobia is married and has four children.
He is a member of the Patronage Committee of the International Coalition for the Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World (2001-2010).
He was from 2004 to 2009, the World Council of Churches. On 27 August 2009, the WCC Assembly has chosen the Norwegian pastor Samuel Kobia to succeed Kobia.
