Samuel Reber

Samuel Reber ( born July 15, 1903 in East Hampton, New York, † December 25, 1971 in Princeton, New Jersey) was an American diplomat. He served 27 years in the Foreign Service of the United States, including December 11, 1952 to February 10, 1953. As High Commissioner of the United States for Germany

Career

Samuel Reber, Jr., was born on 15 July 1903 in East Hampton, New York, in a Militäramilie. His father, a U.S. Army Signal Corps Colonel Samuel Reber (1864-1933), graduated in 1886 at West Point, and his mother Cecelia Sherman Miles ( 1869-1952 ) was the daughter of Lieutenant General Nelson A. Miles. He attended the Groton School, graduated in 1925 at Harvard University, where he was in the team of rowing rowing eight.
