Samuel S. Conner

Samuel Shepard Conner (* about 1783 in Exeter, New Hampshire, † December 17, 1820 in Covington, Kentucky ) was an American politician. Between 1815 and 1817 he represented the state of Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Samuel Conner attended the Phillips Exeter Academy until 1794 and from then until 1806, the Yale College. After a subsequent study of law and qualifying as a lawyer, he started from 1810 in Waterville at the former Maine District of the State of Massachusetts to work in this profession. During the British - American War, he was initially Major and then Oberstleuntnant in an infantry unit of the U.S. Army. After the war he continued his legal practice in Waterville. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic- Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1814 Conner was in the 19th electoral district of Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of James Parker on March 4, 1815. Until March 3, 1817, he was able to complete a term in Congress. After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Samuel Conner in 1819 Head of Land Surveying in Ohio Country District in the year. He died on December 17, 1820 in Covington.
