Samuel Sevian

Samuel Sevian (born 26 December 2000, Corning) is an American chess player of Armenian descent.

He is the youngest at the time of appointment title International Master of the U.S. and currently (as of February 2014) youngest International Master worldwide. The required standards he met in 2012 at 19, 20 and 23 Metropolitan FIDE Invitational in Los Angeles, as he had not yet reached the required Mindestelo of 2400, he was awarded the IM title at the 1st quarter Presidential Board meeting in January 2013 first awarded in 2013 under Elovorbehalt. In the FIDE list from December 2013, he reached an Elo rating of 2401 and now bears the title of International Master. His current (February 2014) and so far the highest Elo rating is 2429 Samuel Sevian was 2012 World Junior Champion in the U12 age group. .
