The Koh Samui airport ( officially Samui International Airport: "International Samui airport," Thai: ท่าอากาศยาน นานาชาติ ส มุ ย ) is a small, built 1982-1989 Thai airport. It is the only airport in the island of Ko Samui. At first he was served only by the airport operator, airline Bangkok Airways. After long and difficult negotiations, the airport was opened to the competitors. Since December 2007, Thai Airways flies to Ko Samui.

Incidents
- On November 21, 1990, a Bombardier Dash 8-103 Bangkok Airways crashed on landing attempt on the Ko Samui Airport in heavy rain and strong winds from. All 38 people on board were killed.
- On 4 August 2009 the crew of Bangkok Airways Flight 266 lost control on a wet runway and ran into a disused control tower. The pilot died.
