Marruvium was the most important city of the Italic tribe of the Marsi. She lay on the banks of the now drained Lake Fucino ( Fucinus Lacus ), south of Cerfennia. Although the city has a long history, little is known about their condition before the Roman Empire. Today you can find there the remains of buildings ( walls, an amphitheater and floor plans of buildings) all date from a later period.
