San Demetrio Corone
San Demetrio Corone is an Italian town in the province of Cosenza in Calabria with 3642 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).
Location and data
San Demetrio Corone is located about 55 km north of Cosenza on the right bank of the river Crati. The neighboring municipalities are Acri, Corigliano Calabro, San Cosmo Albanese, Albanese Vaccarizzo, Santa Sofia d' Epiro, Tarsia and Terranova da Sibari.
The town developed in the 15th century by the influx of Albanian refugees.
Attractions
In the village there is a Byzantine- Norman church.
