San Diego Gulls (1990–95)
The San Diego Gulls were an American ice hockey franchise in the International Hockey League from San Diego, California. Their home stadium was the San Diego Sports Arena.
History
The San Diego Gulls were established in 1990 as a franchise of the International Hockey League. Since the Gulls in the 1992/93 season took first place after the main round of the IHL, they won by Fred A. Huber Trophy. Then they reached the play-off final, but which was lost with 0:4 against the Fort Wayne Komets. This success could not repeat the club.
In 1993 the leaders of the Association entered into a cooperation with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim of the National Hockey League. In the following two seasons, the Gulls dropped out in the first and the second round of the finals. In summer 1995, the cooperation with the Mighty Ducks was terminated and the club to Los Angeles, California, resettled, where he henceforth took part under the name of Los Angeles Ice Dogs game on the operation of the IHL.
