San Fernando is a municipality in the northwest of the Mexican state of Chiapas.

Previous names of San Fernando were in the language of the Zoque Sahuipac what " gorge of the Apes" means and Osumapa in Nahuatl with the same meaning.

This municipality has about 33,000 inhabitants and an area of 360.7 km ². Administrative seat and largest town of the Municipalities is the same San Fernando.
