San Fernando (Tamaulipas)

San Fernando is a city in Mexico. It is located in the state of Tamaulipas and has about 30,000 inhabitants.

History

The massacres were perpetrated in Tamaulipas in August 2010 near the city, in which 72 Latin American migrants were found murdered.

On April 6, 2011, the Federal Police of Tamaulipas announced that had arrested eleven suspected hijackers at a farm in San Fernando and freed five hostages. After eight mass graves were at least 60 corpses found. The ranch is located in close proximity to the site of the massacre of August 2010.
