San Javier is a town in western Uruguay.

Geography

It is located in the 3rd sector of the department of Río Negro on the eastern shore of the Uruguay River north of Nuevo Berlín.

History

On November 17, 1964 San Javier was classified by the law Nr.13.299 in the category " Villa ".

Population

The population of San Javier was 1,680 at the last census (2004 ).
