San Juan County (New Mexico)
The San Juan County is a county located in the north of the U.S. state of New Mexico. In County live 130 044 inhabitants. The the county seat ( county seat ) is located in Aztec.
Geography
The county has an area of 14,344 square kilometers; of which 63 square kilometers (0.44 percent) of water. The county is bordered clockwise to the counties: Rio Arriba County, Sandoval County, McKinley County, Apache County (Arizona ), San Juan County ( Utah), Montezuma County ( Colorado ), La Plata County ( Colorado) and Archuleta County ( Colorado).
Waters
The San Juan River is the largest river of the county; he gives the County the name. Another river is the Animas River, which flows together in Farmington with the San Juan River. The largest lake is the Navajo Lake to the north of the county on the border with Colorado.

According to the census of 2000, there were 89 908 people in the county. There were 31 411 households, and 23,621 families. The population density was 9 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 65.08 % White, 1.71 % African American, 16.28 % Native American, 0.99 % Asian, 0.11 % Pacific Islander residents from the and 12.37% from other races groups; 3.47% were descended from two or more races. 29.40 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 31 411 households out of which 38.60 % have children under the age of 18 living with them. 57.70 % were married couples living together, 12.20% had a female householder with no husband. 24.80 % were non-families. 19.90% of all households and 6.90% had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.84 and the average family size was 3.29 persons.
Based on the county the population was spread out with 29.60 % under the age of 18, 7.50 % from 18 to 24, 30.10 % from 25 to 44 years, 22.20% between 45 and 64 years and 10.60% were 65 years old or older. The average age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 95.20 males, 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.70 males.
The median income for a household was $ 44,949, and the median income for a family was $ 48,984. Males have a median income of $ 36,791, women $ 26,565. The per capita income was $ 19,174. 12.10% of the population and 9.00% of families are below the poverty line. 15.60% of those under age 18 and 9.20 % were 65 years or older.
