San Michele al Tagliamento

San Michele al Tagliamento is a town with 11,991 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) on the Adriatic coast in Italy. She is known especially for summer tourism in Bibione neighborhood that very many tourists every year leads to the city.

Location and data

The neighboring municipalities are Caorle, Fossalta di Portogruaro, Latisana (UD), Lignano Sabbiadoro ( UD), Morsano al Tagliamento (PN), Portogruaro, Ronchis (UD) and varmo (UD).

History

The first traces of human presence date back to the 4th and 3rd centuries BC, when the lagoon, at the San Michele spreads today, was inhabited by Venetians. From 181 BC the settlement of the Romans marked the beginning of reclamation and agricultural development of the whole area. Since the end of the 18th century archaeological excavations black and white mosaic floors, copper coins, shards of glass and pottery have been discovered dating back to the Roman Empire.

Bibione

Bibione is a medium sized district with about 3000 inhabitants. Bibione is a tourist resort, which is much frequented by tourists from Germany and Austria. In recent years, the number of tourists from Holland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Ireland has risen sharply and will probably continue to rise. The city has around 100,000 beds, such as hotels, campsites and apartments ( Villaggio ) to. The tourists visit Bibione mostly between May and September as the weather at other times is comparable to the German. The shops and the beach are open only during the season between May and September.

Among the traditions of the city, it is one that takes place every Tuesday, a weekly market in the town square in front of the Luna Park. There are various things such as clothing, towels or beach towels, fish, cheese, authentic Italian salami and fresh fruit are sold.

Location

Bibione is located in the area between the Adriatic and the Tagliamento River. The resort is especially popular with young families, there are many clubs for the entertainment of the little ones. In the district of " Lido dei Pini " about a 300 -meter-wide stretch of beach for dogs and their owners was set at (beach " Lido del Faro "). Bibione is divided into different parts of the city, such as Lido dei Pini, Bibione, Bibione and Lido del Sole.
