Sanam Chai Khet District

Amphoe Sanam Chai Khet ( Thai: อำเภอ สนามชัยเขต ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the east of the province of Chachoengsao. The Chachoengsao province is located in the eastern region of central Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts (from west clockwise): the Amphoe Phanom Sarakham Plaeng Yao and in the province of Chachoengsao, Amphoe Si Maha Phot and the Kabin Buri in the province of Prachinburi, Amphoe Khao Chakan the province of Sa Kaeo, Amphoe Tha Takiap again in Chachoengsao and Amphoe Ko Chan in the province of Chonburi.

History

Sanam Chai Khet Mueang ( เมือง สนาม ไช ย์ เขต ต์ ) was already a city ( Mueang ) in the Kingdom of Ayutthaya, as well as the neighboring Mueang Phanat Nikhom ( เมือง พนัสนิคม ) and Phanom Sarakham Mueang ( เมือง พนมสารคาม ).

On January 6, 1966, the three Tambon Khu Yai Mi, Tha Kradan and Tha Takiap Amphoe Phanom Sarakham were separated from to create the sub-district ( King Amphoe ) Sanam Chai ( สนามไชย ) thereof. On December 14, 1972, he was renamed in Sanam Chai Ket. On June 28, 1973 Sanam Chai Khet got the full Amphoe status.

Management

The circle is divided into four subdistricts (tambon ), divide further into 64 villages ( Muban ).

Sanam Chai Khet ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สนามชัยเขต ) is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district, which covers parts of tambon Khu Yai Wed.

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
